My name is Angela Dowless and I have had the pleasure of being the music teacher here at HRES since the beginning! I was born and raised in NC but I have lived and taught in several states. After completing my degree at UNCP, I taught band my first year at Lumberton Jr. High School. I then moved to Toledo, Ohio where I worked for Toledo Public schools for the next 4 years. Ohio was cold! My husband and I decided we needed a little sunshine and a change of scenery so we moved out west to Las Vegas, Nevada where we lived for 6 years. While there, we had our first son, Jack, and decided we would move closer to family. We found jobs here in the Raleigh area and have settled in. In our first year here we welcomed our second son, Holden. We enjoy the area and all it has to offer. My family keeps bees and chickens and the boys enjoy hunting during the season. We also have a big garden every summer so I get to put vegetables in the freezer and honey in jars and we share the eggs with our friends and neighbors. I often joke that I live on "The Dowless Farm"! Take a look at the video of me performing in Cinderella years ago!! This was in 1993 in Lumberton NC. The first year of my teaching career.
